The International Colloquium \u201cContemporary Memorialisation of the Holocaust in Central and Eastern European Countries\u201d<\/em> is organised by the \u201cElie Wiesel\u201d National Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Romania within the framework of the \u201cHolocaust Memoryscapes\u201d project, financed by a grant of Ministry of Research and Innovation, CNCS – UEFISCDI (project number PN-III-P1-1.1-TE-2016-0811, within PNCDI III).<\/p>\n

Our interdisciplinary colloquium focuses on the contemporary memorialisation of the Holocaust in Central and Eastern European Countries through Memory-Work and Heritage Mechanisms. The objective is to deepen the understanding of the Holocaust memory-making mechanisms, including both state and non-state agencies of memorializing the Holocaust with the emphasis being put on the role of memorial vectors in directly engaging the audience with Jewish and Romani histories, in an attempt to critically analyse and challenge the concept of shared history and memorializing the atrocities of the past.<\/p>\n

The application package consists of:<\/strong>
\n\u2022A summary of up to 250 words written in English or French;
\n\u2022A short CV (MAX 500 words),
\nboth filled in the paper proposal form<\/a>.<\/p>\n
