Even if they are not necessarily alarming, the increase in antisemitic manifestations during recent years in Europe and the United States shows that Romanian society may, at any time, experience an intensification of the negative perception of the Jewish minority.
In this context, the “Elie Wiesel” Institute set out to identify and analyze antisemitic manifestations in the public space in Romania and attempt to deny or relativize the Holocaust or promote the cult of war criminals and those convicted of crimes against humanity.
