“Stories from the Holocaust. Local histories” – a project that encourages us to rediscover some parts of our communities’ past, to deepen their history from a different perspective, one of the experiences lived during the Holocaust by Jews and Roma, persecuted, deported, or exterminated on arbitrary criteria.
The graphic novel panels reveal life stories of Jews and Roma from Suceava, Bacău, Vrancea, Galați, Argeş, and Dolj sent to forced labor, deported to Transnistria, excluded from economic, social, and cultural life. Their experiences show us that the Holocaust in Romania is the reality experienced during the Second World War by hundreds of thousands of people who were part of our communities.
Students and teachers from Suceava, Bacău, Vrancea, Galați, Argeș, and Dolj contributed to preparing the storyboard of the exhibitions.
